Another short one today: I’m in Tokyo with a pretty busy week (and a broken sleep cycle — jet lag seems to be more difficult the older I get. At least I had a nice view from my hotel room window… . So just a piece of news:
Another short story of mine was accepted, again to an anthology. Theme is “colors”, publication planned for St. Patrick’s Day 2025, and the announcement is here. I am actually quite proud of this one; it’s my longest one yet, started out as dark(ish) contemporary fantasy, and was a bit of a mess. After some workshopping with our son (thanks for that!) and a bunch of rewrites, it’s now closer to my usual style. And quite good, IMHO. 🙂 No spoilers, just check it out when it’s published.
The story mentions a lot of music, which I started listening to while writing. That’s how you produce earworms. For example Jorge Caballero’s guitar version of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
It’s just amazing.
